Livestock insurance provides protection to insured livestock kept for dairy, fattening and production.

Scope of Cover

The policy compensates insured for death or emergency slaughter on medical grounds as a direct result of the following:

1. accident
2. illness and disease (including epidemic diseases)
3. smoke, fire, lightning
4. windstorm

With respect to loss by slaughter it is a condition precedent to liability that a qualified veterinary surgeon, appointed by the Insured, shall first have given a certificate that the suffering of the animal is incurable and therefore immediate destruction is imperative.

Exclusion

This policy does not cover any loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by or arising from or in consequence of or contributed by:

1. Any Disease proved to have started before or during the waiting period;
2. Mastitis;
3. Slaughter or culling which is not ordered by the veterinary surgeon or due to a lack of the customary, recognized standard of veterinary care;
4. Theft or unlawful removal of animals;
5. Mysterious disappearance or escape;
6. Defective feed or feed additives;
7. Impotence and sterility;
8. Inadequate milk yield;
9. Hereditary defects and hereditary diseases;
10. Abortion, calcified fetuses, mummified fetuses and dead fetuses;
